# Update ticket

> Update scalar fields on a ticket. Use dedicated endpoints for status and assignment.

Update fields on an existing ticket. Send only what you want to change — omitted fields stay as they are.

<Warning>
  Do not send `statusId` on this endpoint. Use [Change ticket status](/api-reference/endpoint/tickets/change-status) instead. The update action strips `statusId` if present.
